Growing up in the quiet town of Bradenton, Florida, Jonathan Bryan always had an affinity for storytelling. As a child, he would often entertain his family with dramatic retellings of his day, imitating voices from cartoons, movies, and the people around him. His love for mimicry began early, with his friends and family often amazed by his uncanny ability to replicate voices with precision. Whether pretending to be the villain in his favorite animated series or creating entire characters from his imagination, Jonathan’s childhood was marked by a deep, natural connection to the power of voice.
His love for the craft wasn't just about fun and games; it was about creating connections and sparking emotions through his voice. Little did he know, these innocent childhood games would be the first steps toward a career in voiceover.
Education
Jonathan’s formal education began at the Sarasota Military Academy in Sarasota, Florida, where he honed his discipline, focus, and work ethic. It was there that he developed an early appreciation for structure and precision—traits that would later serve him well in his voiceover career. However, his true passion was always in creative expression, and after a year and a half in college, he decided that traditional academia wasn't the right fit for him. He chose to follow his instincts and pursue a career in voice acting, fully embracing the freedom of working in an art form he loved.
Determined to turn his passion into a profession, Jonathan trained extensively in the voiceover field. He enrolled in VO Academy, where he sharpened his skills under the guidance of industry professionals. He also participated in the Smooth Acting Workshop, a program focused on using subtlety and nuance in performance. Seeking further expertise, Jonathan trained at the Elite Voice Talent Studio and enrolled in the Vocal Edge Masterclass, where he deepened his technical knowledge and versatility. His education provided him with both the technical skills and artistic insight required to thrive in the voiceover world.
Early Career
Jonathan’s entry into the voiceover industry was anything but conventional. After honing his craft in workshops and acting classes, he started small, recording local commercials and doing freelance work for independent video game and content developers. His big break came when he landed a recurring role as a character in an animated series for a popular YouTube channel. This experience gave him the confidence to take his voiceover career full-time.
